Internal structure design of plastic injection mold

1. Wall thickness design of plastic injection molding:

① The wall thickness of the plastic injection parts should be uniform, avoid the design of sudden change and wide cross-section thickness, otherwise it will cause uneven shrinkage and cause defects on the surface of the plastic parts.

The wall thickness of plastic parts is generally in the range of 1 ~ 6mm, and the most commonly used wall thickness value is 1.8 ~ 3mm, which depends on the type and size of plastic parts.

2: Design of plastic mold rib position:

① The role of plastic rib position is to increase strength, fix the bottom shell, support frame, key guidance, etc. Due to the joint of the rib and the plastic shell, the appearance of shrinkage depression is easy to occur; Therefore, the thickness of the rib site is required to be less than or equal to 0.5t(t is the wall thickness of the plastic part), and the general rib site thickness is in the range of 0.8 ~ 1.2mm.

② When the rib depth is more than 15mm, it is easy to have plastic material flow difficulties and venting.

③ Inserts can be made on the mold, which is also convenient to save mold and venting.

④ The rib depth is less than 15mm, and the demoulding inclination should be above 0.5°;

⑤ The depth of the rib is more than 15mm, and the thickness difference between the root and the top of the rib is not less than 0.2mm.
