The Structural Design Of The Plastic Injection Mold
2023-12-15
Plastic injection mold design and manufacturing is closely related to plastic processing. The success or failure of plastic processing largely depends on the mold design effect and mold manufacturing quality, and the plastic mold design is based on the correct design of plastic products. The structural elements to be considered in plastic mold design are: 1. Parting surface, that is, the contact surface between the concave die and the punch die when the die is closed. The selection of its position and form is affected by factors such as the shape and appearance of the product, wall thickness, forming method, post-processing technology, mold type and structure, demoulding method and forming machine structure. 2. Structural parts, that is, the slider, the inclined top, the straight top block of the complex mold. The design of structural parts is very key, related to the life of the mold, processing cycle, cost, product quality, etc., so the design of complex mold core structure requires higher comprehensive ability of the designer, and the pursuit of a simpler, more durable and more economical design scheme as far as possible. 3. Mold accuracy, that is, avoid card, fine positioning, guide pillar, positioning pin, etc. Positioning system is related to the appearance of the product quality, mold quality and life, according to the mold structure is different, choose different positioning methods, positioning accuracy control mainly rely on processing, internal mold positioning is mainly the designer to fully consider, design a more reasonable and easy to adjust the positioning method. 4. The runner system, that is, the feed channel between the injection molding machine nozzle and the cavity, including the main channel, diverter channel, gate and cold hole. In particular, the location of the gate should be selected to facilitate the filling of the cavity of the molten plastic in a good flow state, and the solid runner attached to the product and the gate cold material are easy to push out of the mold and be removed from the mold when the mold is opened (except for the hot runner mold). 5. The shrinkage rate of plastics and the factors that affect the dimensional accuracy of products, such as mold manufacturing and assembly errors, mold wear and so on. In addition, the matching of the process and structural parameters of the molding machine should also be considered when designing the die and injection mold. Computer aided design technology has been widely used in plastic mold design.
